BORIS HAS A PROBLEM!

Boris Johnson...BoJo, bless him...has a problem. For Boris has to admit that he was wrong and has continued to be wrong for, perhaps, decades, a difficult thing for any politician to admit especially one who seeks the highest office in the land. Those of us who campaigned in 1975 to extricate ourselves from the then 'Common Market' correctly foresaw the inevitability of the direction of the Common Market. For over a hundred years Germany has sought to be the controlling force within Europe and to many of us, the more prescient, could see the ominous signs that then emanated from Bonn. De Gaulle, despite his repetitive 'Non' at every occasion, always seemed a peripheral player in a game that he was getting too old for. Of course in those days the 'Single Market' term hadn't been invented or at least not widely used among the proles like me. When this example of globalist gobbledegook started to become a term that the great political class used with such relish a shiver went up the spines of those of us who had always looked upon the morphed 'EU' with suspicion and fear. People like Boris seemed, then, to view the 'Single Market' as a financial term to ease trade among member 'states'  and share prosperity among its citizens. It never was. It was ALWAYS about gathering member states into a closer, more officious, more red-taped bound, greater centrally controlled 'Union' that the same member states would find it almost impossible to disentangle themselves from. A similar example would be the Euro...a greater example of the sheer folly of European politicians it would difficult to imagine, but one where similar tactics have been used. We find countries entangled with this deflationary currency where they KNOW they would be far better off without it but are unable to rid themselves of it because of the sheer complexity of setting up your own currency and setting a financial framework that would allow your own country to take control of its economy. It would be churlish and childish to say 'we warned you' but  well, we did! Today on Marr the penny at last seemed to have dropped with BoJo  but he couldn't quite bring himself to admit that all his previous statements showing support for the 'Single Market' were an egregious error of judgement on his part. What still amazes me is that even today there are those who still take whatever EU politicians say at face value. Listen to atticvs...they ALWAYS have another agenda. The EU is not, primarily, a financial institution but a political one. You can't divorce yourself from one side of it. Its purpose is to take greater power from member states until it becomes a single entity known as Europe. It seeks, by openness or subterfuge (it really doesn't care how) to get that control by keeping a gullible public unaware of the extent of its power grab. It relies upon traitorous, complicit governments to aid this revolution. That Boris has only recently discovered this is welcome...better late than never...but until he admits his mistake he will always be open to the difficult questioning he faced on the Marr Show yesterday. A simple 'I was wrong and have changed my mind' would have disarmed an obviously hostile examiner. Man-up BoJo...too much is at stake.
