NOT MY FAULT GUV !

The resignation of Bob Quick, the assistant commissioner, over the leak scandal has caused wide consternation amongst the government with, they believe, a terrible precedent being set. A Downing Street spokesman said ‘The Government is greatly concerned that people resigning because they have made a monumental cock-up makes the position of the Prime Minister, the Chancellor, the Home Secretary.. in fact the whole of the Labour front bench completely untenable’. He added ‘The idea of anyone being culpable for anything is, as you know, a completely alien idea within any British Government. We thought this idea of resigning as a matter of honour was finished with Profumo, but it seems we still have some way to go make sure this resigning nonsense is discarded to the dustbin of political history’. A Tory party spokesman went on ‘ We never expected Bob to resign…we thought the government would just send him to Brussels as a commissioner for a couple of years and then bring him back and install him in the House of Lords like they did Mandelson…but to resign !…this puts enormous pressure on us when we get elected to start behaving in a responsible manner and, frankly, is just not on‘. Many Mps were not keen to comment publicly, but Sir Rupert Snidey-Prick, MP for Upper Bloated in Surrey said ‘Damn disgrace, man’s a bounder. Just given the great unwashed another stick to beat us with !.Bad enough they attack the expenses I claim on my second home, Bloaty Castle, set in 200 acres, but pretty soon they will start complaining about the subsidised meals and drinks I get at the commons !…would find it very difficult to do my job properly without my daily bottle of Möet at £1.00 a bottle?. David Cameron was unavailable for comment.

DIFFERENT WORLDS AND DIFFERENT STANDARDS

After the terrible events that occurred in Mumbai the difference between their politicians and ours is stark. Two senior ministers resign as a matter of conscience. Over here they lie, thieve and cheat...are packed off to Strasbourg on an enormous salary for a few years and are then bought back into Government, at ministerial level, and given a seat in the House of Lords...and they wonder why we think they are a bunch of cheating polecats....why do we put up with it ???

YES WE CAN'T !!

The apotheosis of Barack Obama continues at breakneck speed. A vision of him hanging limply from a cross, Messiah like, at the end of his term, a martyr to Camelot and the Kennedy tradition, a tradition that has no basis in truth or fact will , I fear, be the only legacy for American guilt at past mistakes. What does he, what does anybody think that one term of office, for a Government that has lost the moral direction that the most powerful nation in the world should, must have, can do ? The American people continue to be the most generous on this Earth...but their expectations can and never will be realised..it is doomed to fail. The seismic shift in the financial system means that American influence will diminish as the emerging economies of the East sweep all before them. Like England before her, Americas failure to read the signs and act upon them has been her downfall and I don't believe there is any way back. American satirical magazine 'MAD' recently had a darkened skinned Alfred E. Nueman on it's front cover with the headline 'YES WE CAN'T''...an eerie portent of the inevitability of what is coming!!

Why I hate safety campaigners

Read in the newspaper that listening to a radio whilst driving your car is as dangerous as drink driving...been saying for years that the safety mafia will not be happy until all cars are off the road...not happy with a 30 mph limit, they are now pushing for , and getting, 20 mph in some places and are even now trying for 10 mph!...how long before these Luddites ask for someone to walk in front of each vehicle waving a red flag?...oh no, we've tried that and we still have the Brighton car run to celebrate it's abolition...exceed the speed limit? why your worse than Hitler!..eating a Mars bar behind the wheel?...it's the Gulag for you!...the next time a hero burns down one of those fixed speed cameras I wish he would include a 'safety' campaigner in the pyre!

CLIMATE SHMIMITE

Had to laugh at the heartfelt tears of a certain Mr. Yvon de Boer at the climate change meeting in Bali...Mr. De Boer's tears signified that finally they could all relax, secure in the knowledge that they will all get another jolly to some exotic location in 2009, and was quite moving...loading the lot of these parasites into a coach and sending them to a Bridlington bedsit in January, with instructions not to leave until a lasting agreement was reached, would surely be a far better way of concentrating the mind?

Carpe Diem Mr. Blair

Same old story in the news....house prices spiralling!...couple of suggestions...firstly stop people owning more than one house UNLESS it is rented out full time to local residents...they should then increase the tax payable on it's sale to stop this frenzy that is going on....this problem is particularly acute in our more scenic areas...Lake District...Cornwall...and this is having a devastating effect on local communities and sevices....secondly...can't the brain deads running our country see that the biggest problem facing England is OVERCROWDING?..already the most densely populated country in Europe our government has buried it's head in the sand for decades...too many people in too small a space leads to all kinds of social problems without taking into account the devastating effect it has on our beautiful countryside AND the tremendous pressure our local authorities are under to acquiese to demands to release more land for building...too simple l suppose?

Why oh why dont we learn?

Watching a crowd of Irish travellers demanding sites to settle on the other day...local residents up in arms...local crime rate up...surrounding area made to resemble a tip...why don't we just refuse them entry?...tell me how it's the responsibility of English taxpayers to provide any sort of ameneties to these people?...the only reason they are over here is because the Irish government has tightened the regulations on where these people can settle...so what do they do ?...arrive on our doorstep full of self righteous indignation, full of the human rights act and determined to flout every regulation that they can...why do we allow ourselves to be made fools of in this way?...refuse them entry and let their own Government take the resposibility
